Malatosca Pool
Near the Malatosca Mill, in Sant Joan de les Abadesses, there is a natural pool known as the Witches’ Pool, named after the witches who were said to have stayed there. According to legend, this gathering place for witches and refuge for magical beings was once the setting for a curious tale. One day, a midwife from the village was summoned because one of the witches was about to give birth. As payment for her services, they gave her an apronful of lentils. Furious with this reward, the midwife threw them into the River Ter. The following day, as she put on her apron, she noticed that one lentil had remained stuck to the fabric and had turned into gold.
You may not find gold at the pool, but you can certainly enjoy a refreshing and pleasant swim in the cool waters of the Malatosca stream, which rises in the Serra Cavallera mountains, near Can Camps.

Torrent de la Cabana
